Paste your content, answer a few questions, and get a finished SCORM package. No timeline, no triggers, no three-day training course. Works with Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, TalentLMS and every other LMS that takes SCORM.
Four jobs. Most tools are strong at one and make you fight for the rest.
A tool that produces courses in the SCORM format so they can be uploaded to a learning management system and tracked. The name varies — SCORM creator, SCORM builder, SCORM maker, authoring tool — but they all describe software that turns your content into a package an LMS understands, with completion and scores reported back.
Yes, and most people making SCORM courses are not designers. If you can write a document and choose from a list, you can make a course. The layout, spacing and styling come from the theme rather than from you positioning things by hand.
SCORM 1.2 unless you have a reason not to. It is the most widely supported and works in nearly every LMS. Use SCORM 2004 if you need separate completion and pass or fail statuses. Use xAPI or cmi5 if you have a learning record store and want detailed activity data.
A first draft from existing content takes minutes. Getting it right takes as long as the content deserves — usually an hour or two of editing for a short course. The saving is not in the writing, it is in not having to build the structure, the styling and the tracking by hand.
If your LMS accepts SCORM, yes. That covers Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, TalentLMS, Docebo, LearnDash, Totara, SuccessFactors and most others. Export the zip and upload it the same way you would any other SCORM course.
There are free and open-source options, and they are worth knowing about — we wrote about them here. They generally trade your time for the licence fee: more setup, more manual work, and you are your own support. This tool is free for 14 days and $29 a month after, which is worth it only if the time it saves is worth more than that to you.
Bring a document you already have. You will know within ten minutes whether this fits how you work. Free for 14 days, no card required.
